Kaitlin & Drew's Boho Barn Wedding

Kait & Drew are a fun-loving couple that I also have the pleasure of calling good friends! As a couple, their light-hearted nature and hilarious sense of humour is something you feel right away when spending time with them. When we got together for their floral consultation, Kait knew she wanted to incorporate some amazing boho inspired pieces into the floral decor. Her ideas were inspiring and I was instantly excited to be part of their big day. Drew had one thing and one thing only in mind - He wanted a floral chandelier!

Kait’s ivory & neutral bouquet was garden inspired with local peonies and garden roses as focal florals. We added lisianthus, spray roses and fresh local lilac as complimentary florals. It all came together with a textured blend of eucalyptus and ruscus foliages. Thanks to the fresh white lilac, this bouquet smelled as good as it looked!

Kait’s maid’s carried floral hoops down the aisle, a refreshing alternative to the traditional bridesmaid bouquet. Along with the floral hoops, their multi-coloured and mix-matched skirts created a boho inspired look for this countryside barn wedding.

The ceremony decor was natural, earthy and California inspired. The copper arbour was solely decorated with eucalyptus and white delphinium florals.

As a friend of the couple, I was able to take in their ceremony as a guest. The officiant told the tale of how they met, what they love most about each other, and their accomplishments as a couple (and fur-parents). I was laughing one second, and in tears the next. It was a touching ceremony for two people with a serendipitous love story.

Kait & Drew wanted to bring the outside in for their rustic barn reception. We excentuated this all-wooden space with lush foliage floating up the pillars of the barn. The long harvest tables were lined with hand laid mixed foliage runners. The show stopper was without a doubt the garden inspired floral chandelier above the dance floor. This was not your average floral chandelier! It included local peonies, English garden roses, and whimsical flowing foliage. I would be willing to bet that it was the second most beautiful thing Drew set his eyes on that day!

Behind the head table hung five copper hoops with mixed foliage and ivory floral decor, perfectly framed by the romantic drapery hung from beam to beam. A romantic touch that always softens the look of this rustic space.

This wedding was so inspiring and fun to bring together. I know my team and I enjoyed building the floral chandelier, just as much as Kait and Drew enjoyed dancing the night away under it. If you are asking yourself “Do I need a floral chandelier at my reception?”. The answer is - YES!
